The name value calculator implements five distinct numerological systems used across different cultural and historical traditions. The Pythagorean system assigns values A=1 through Z=8 in repeating 9-unit cycles, making it the most systematic and widely taught approach. The Chaldean system, considered the oldest (originating in ancient Babylon), assigns values based on vibrational energy rather than alphabetical position and never assigns 9 to a single letter, considering 9 sacred.

Hebrew Gematria (Mispar Hechrachi) assigns values matching the original Hebrew alphabet: Aleph=1, Bet=2, Gimel=3...up to Tav=400. This system is used in Kabbalistic analysis of Torah texts to find hidden numerical relationships between words. The Arabic Abjad system follows a similar ancient tradition with values up to 1000 for the letter Ghayn. The Simple system (A=1...Z=26) is the most straightforward and is used in basic English cryptography.

The calculator also separates vowels from consonants to compute the Soul Urge number (vowels, representing inner desires) and Personality number (consonants, representing outward expression) — two of the three core numbers in a complete numerological reading alongside the Expression/Destiny number (full name total).
